We know Vegi is good for health. This is the reason we all trying to order Vegi Lunch Box each Tuesday from Tzu Chi.
Most of us may know a little bid how Tzu Chi Foundation is working. They are working for society welfare regardless races/ country/ skin colors ......... I believe we do read some news from paper which stated Tzu Chi volunteer workers will be the FIRST group people arriving the disasters area (earthquake/tsunami/....) when help needed.
The Tzu Chi Foundation 慈濟基金會, whose name means "compassion and relief," is an international humanitarian organization and the largest NGO in the Chinese-speaking world.
The organization was founded by Dharma Master Cheng Yen, a Buddhist nun, on May 14, 1966 in Hualien, Taiwan. She was inspired by her master and mentor, the late Venerable Master Yin Shun (印順導師, Yin Shun Dao Shi), a significant proponent of Humanistic Buddhism, who exhorted her to: "work for Buddhism and for all sentient beings."
In mountainous Hualien, Master Cheng Yen was moved to act by the poverty and lack of services and decided to set up a charity organization, which started out as a group of thirty housewives who saved a small amount of money each day to care for needy families. From these humble beginnings, the group has grown to become a major civil society actor, with approximately 10 million members, and chapters in 47 countries. The group's core activities span Charity, Medicine, Education and Humanistic Culture, and it provides aid to all people regardless of race, religion or nationality. With particularly deep roots in Asia, Tzu Chi is considered one of the most effective aid agencies in the region.
Today, few of us who are the Lunch Box Coordinator in companies trying to meeting up with all the Tzu Chi Volunteers who cook for us. In fact - we all planning to buy those Tzu Chi Obasan with a simple lunch...but end up with their return of a GREAT LUNCH. They prepare us a GREAT and SUPERB vegi lunch!!! We are so touching with their given love.
FYI - All the revenue will 100% contributed for local welfare purpose. This group of Tzu Chi Obasan will cook for us, deliver to us and even pay the lunch box raw materials themselves. End of the day - they do not gain any single cents here. ..........Not I should say they are gaining "Love" from Society .... "Respect" from People......"Compassion" from God.
